Conferences
CIPFA Sustainability Conference – 23rd September 2010, London
Are you aware of the potential financial benefits for your organisation of taking a more active role in developing local renewable energy solutions? Are you in a position to deal with the unpredictability of budget making under CRC? What do you need to know for financial planning and decision making? What are the benefits of sustainable procurement? What does public sector sustainability reporting look like and how can it usefully link to financial information? Are you confident you know the answers? If not, you should attend the CIPFA Sustainability Conference on the 23 September.
To find out further information about the conference including the programme please see the CIPFA Seminars and Conferences website.
The CRC will have a large impact, both financially and culturally. At Lambeth sustainability colleagues have formed a cross-functional working group and finance’s role is key to modelling the implications of CRC, forecasting costs, purchasing and selling carbon allowances, appraising energy saving projects and gaining additional funding. CIPFA is providing much needed guidance on issues which are unclear and is well placed to support accountants and sustainability officers by working with key stakeholders and delivering further support on specific carbon finance issues.’ Akram Rizvi, Technical Accountant, |
