| Information for Employers |
CETC places great emphasis on developing and maintaining relationships
with CIPFA employers. Whether you currently have trainees attending CETC
courses, or are thinking of it, then this page should have information
of interest to you.
Employers' Meetings
CETC
organises two meetings a year for employers, typically in March and September.
These are held at each of the CETC locations. Employers are invited to
attend to hear presentations from CIPFA and both the Head of CETC and
the Course Directors.
The meetings are the best opportunity to find out about the plans CETC and CIPFA have, hear a review of the courses and performance in exams from the Course Director, ask questions, and meet with other employers.
The dates and locations for the Employers' Meetings of Spring 2009 are as follows:
| Spring 2009 | |
| CETC South East (London) | 4th March (am) |
| CETC Midlands (Birmingham) | 6th March 2009 (pm) |
| CETC East Scotland (Edinburgh) | 10th March (am) |
| CETC West of England & CETC Wales (the meeting alternates between Cardiff and Bristol) |

Support for your trainees
There are various ways we can support your trainees, some you may be
aware of such as our courses and others you may not such as tutorials.
You can read a synopsis below and find links to read further information:
|
If you choose to sponsor your trainees to attend CETC courses you can be assured that they will receive the best quality tuition. CETC consistently achieves pass rates for all modules that are in excess of the CIPFA average meaning that CETC provides CIPFA students with the best opportunity of passing the exams. We also have a strong history of producing CIPFA prizewinners.
As a CETC employer you will receive a progress report for each module, each term informing you of the progress and attendance history of your trainees. You will also be able to attend the biannual Employers' Meetings and have the opportunity to become further involved with CETC through becoming a representative on the Course Committees or Governing Body.
Training Schemes and Recruitment
Whether your organisation participates in a national or local scheme, you have your own training scheme, or you recruit on an ad hoc basis CETC can help train your new starters, preparing them for the CIPFA exams. The courses and services we provide are suitable for trainees from all backgrounds whether they are straight from university or have come through the AAT route.
Every March and September, CETC emails employers on its database to find out their anticipated number of new starters for forthcoming courses. This enables CETC to plan the courses accordingly. If you'd like to receive this survey then email: enquiries@cetc.org.uk. Please also email if you have any further information regarding new starters outside of the times the survey is open (the survey is available from the beginning of March to mid-April and beginning of September to mid-October).
Training Schemes
A large proportion of CIPFA's students have traditionally come from
employers' training schemes, and this route is becoming even more popular
with the development of many training partnerships between employers. You
can read more about these schemes by opening this PDF.
Recruitment
If your recruitment isn't part of an organised training scheme
you might want to consider using CIPFA's advertising service. CIPFA can
advertise your trainee vacancy positions at no cost. To find out more
and view the current list of vacancies, click

You may wish to also keep an eye on CETC's anticipated programme of courses for future terms to ensure that your trainee can start on the relevant course at the right time.
Bespoke Courses
