Revision Courses

These courses are:

  • Exam driven and available for each exam paper
  • Held at our five main locations - London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Cardiff and for the first time in December 2008 in Manchester
  • Appropriate for both first time sitters and re-sitters
  • Open to students on main courses and those who are distance learning or studying elsewhere
  • Designed to fill gaps in the students’ knowledge of the module
  • Exam focused and will hone examination technique

More information on revision courses can be found in the Study Support page of the Student section.

Mock Examinations

It is our view that practice of examination standard questions under examination conditions is essential preparation for the final examinations. Whilst mock examinations are an integral part of the block and day release courses, and included in the fee for these courses, it is also possible for students not attending these courses to sit some or all of the mock examinations that are offered shortly before the real examinations.

In addition to mock exams, a series of mock case studies can also be sat for the Finance and Management Case Study (FMCS) module throughout the semester.

Find out more about mock exams and mock case studies in the Study Support page of the Student section.

IPDS Introduction Courses

The Initial Professional Development Scheme (IPDS) is a vital component of the professional qualification. CETC offers an IPDS Intoduction course to help both CETC students and non-CETC students to understand the requirements of this scheme and to provide useful advice and tips on how to excel.

You can find out more about this course in the Study Support page of the Student section and more about the IPDS scheme from the CIPFA website.

Bespoke Courses

For employers (either individually or in a consortia) with a large number of students in one exam sitting, or with other particular requirements, bespoke courses can be an effective alternative to the open main courses. These courses can be structured on either a day or block release basis depending on the requirements. Currently CETC are running several bespoke courses for students from KPMG and Grant Thornton which provide a different route through the qualification; this course is open to students from other organisations. Advanced Diploma in Business & Financial Management courses have also been run for the Metropolitan Police and the Ministry of Defence.

In house Courses

In-house courses offer the same benefits as the bespoke courses but can be held at your premises rather than at one of the five CETCs. Currently the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have an in-house course running at their offices in Leeds which is delivered by CETC trainers for DWP students (other students, subject to approval from DWP, may be able to join this course. If you are interested, contact CETC on 020 7403 4300 in the first instance).
