CETC Students Excel in June 2006 PAQ Exams

CETC students have again excelled in the June 2006 Professional Accountancy Qualification (PAQ) exams. CETC, which has centres located in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and now Cardiff, has announced the pass rates of the students who studied with CETC. The highlights include the following:

  • CETC's pass rates for every PAQ module were higher than the CIPFA average
  • In some case the difference between the CETC average and the CIPFA average was as high as 21%
  • High scores were achieved for many modules including Financial Reporting (81%), Financial Management Systems and Techniques (80%), Audit & Assurance (87%), Accounting for Decision Making (84%), Leadership & Management (85%), Taxation (84%), and Finance & Management Case Study (82%)

Students on the PAQ Fast Track courses, which are attended by students from KPMG and PwC, as well as being open to students from other firms and employers, again achieved outstanding results as did the students on the in-house course for the Department for Work and Pensions. The highlights of these results are as follows:

  • 100% pass rates were achieved for Financial Reporting and Financial Management Systems and Techniques by the PAQ Fast Track CETC South East group who also achieved a 97% pass rate in Public Finance
  • Pass rates of 92% and 100% were achieved for Accounting for Decision Making and Governance & Public Policy respectively by the PAQ Fast Track CETC South East group
  • The Department for Work and Pensions in-house group achieved pass rates of 90% and over for all the modules they sat - Governance & Public Policy (92%), Public Finance (92%), and Taxation (90%)

Commenting on the results Gary Gilbert, Head of CETC, says: "The performance of CETC's students in the June exams has been outstanding. They have every right to be proud of this achievement. Once again our students have demonstrated that attending courses at CETC can significantly increase the chances of success in CIPFA examinations. Our combination of examination focussed courses and dedicated and expert tutors is a winning formula."

These results come at a time of continual growth for CETC, which is beginning course provision for CIPFA students in September 2006 in Cardiff.
