CIPFA students attending day and block release courses at the CIPFA Education & Training Centre have excelled in the December 2007 CIPFA professional qualification exams. Many groups achieved an outstanding 100% pass rate on their papers, a testiment to students continued hard work and dedication. Significantly, the majority of CETC students also accomplished levels of success in modular papers that exceed the CIPFA modular average. CETC students also distinguished themselves by scooping eight out of the nine national prizes awarded by CIPFA at the final level.
Highlights of CETC's December's results on main courses include:
- An overall average pass rate of 85%
- All CETC modular pass rates exceeded the CIPFA average pass rates by as much as 25%
- All certificate level modules achieved a pass rate of 85% or higher
- Eight of the nine CIPFA national prizes were awarded to CETC students
Particularly high pass rates for CETC students were achieved in the following papers:
- Certificate level: Management Accounting- 90% (79% CIPFA average)
- Diplome level: Taxation- 95% (93% CIPFA average) ;Governance & Public policy- 93% (83% CIPFA average; Finance & Performance Reporting- 83% (75% CIPFA average)
- Final test level: Case study- 72% (57% CIPFA average); Strategic Business Management- 83% (72% CIPFA average)
On CETC's bespoke and in-house programmes, students also performed well. Distinguished achievements include:
- Students achieved an excellent 100% Pass rate on all FT certificate and diploma papers
- Final Test of Professional Competence level FT: Case Study- 96%;, Strategic Business Management-85%
- Students studying in-house DWP courses achieved 100% pass rates for both Financial Accounting and Taxation, and 96% for Public Finance, 95% for Governance & Public Policy, and 90% for Management Accounting.

With many 100% pass rates and high margins between the CIPFA national average and CETC average it is easy to see why our courses still offer the best route for passing the CIPFA exams. There was also good news for CETC students studying for the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Finance & Leadership -an impressive 95% of participants passed the Strategic Business Management paper and 75% passed the Finance & Management Case Study paper.

CETC has also recently announced it is offering a bespoke course for KPMG and Grant Thornton that allows their students to take exams at just the December sitting and still pass within three years.
