CIPFA Education and Training Centre Senior Trainer wins NSF Excellence in Education Award for the second year in a row
For the second year in a row, CIPFA Education and Training
Centre (CETC) Senior Trainer Philip McCosker, was announced as the winner
of the CIPFA National Student Forum (NSF) Excellence in Education Award.
The award was presented at the 2009 NSF Student Conference in Manchester
on 24 June 2009. This is the fourth consecutive year a CIPFA Education
and Training Centre Trainer has won this prestigious award,
Students throughout the UK had the opportunity to nominate any lecturer
from any of the accredited CIPFA course providers that they believe had
shown dedication, commitment and enthusiasm beyond the call of duty.
Gary Gilbert, Head of the CIPFA Education and Training Centre, says: "We are so pleased for Philip that he has been recognised for his hard work and contribution towards his student's education and training. Many thanks to all of you who did make a nomination. It is wonderful you use your chance to have a say and to acknowledge the support of your lecturers."
Philip joined the CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2005. He is the Module Leader for Financial Reporting, and is also involved in delivering courses for Financial Accounting, Accounting for Decision Making and the Finance and Management Case Study. Philip is based at in Birmingham, at CETC Midlands, but like all CIPFA Education and Training Centre trainers he delivers courses at our other course venues across the UK.
Philip was unable to collect the award in person as he was on holiday
at the time, but on hearing the news of the award he said "I am absolutely
delighted to have won this award again. I would like to thank everyone
who nominated me, especially since nominations take place at a time when
you are busy preparing for exams. During my four years at CETC I never
cease to be amazed at the amount of time and effort that CIPFA trainees
put into their studies, often travelling long distances to centres, and
working diligently through course material whilst coping with the added
pressures of their jobs and family life. As a trainer it is rewarding
to see how trainees develop and grow in confidence as they move through
their CIPFA studies. It is an absolute pleasure to be involved in training
such committed and dedicated individuals and to have won this award."
