Making a Complaint
CIPFA's professional disciplinary scheme will investigate complaints of 'misconduct' by CIPFA members, including student members and Affiliate members and Associate members.
Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, breach of the Standards of Professional Practice or other guides to conduct, any conduct which prejudicially affects the status, reputation or welfare of the Institute and any act or default likely to bring discredit upon the CIPFA member, his employer, the Institute or the profession of accountancy.
For further assistance on making a complaint and information on disciplinary procedures, see the Complainants' Guide to CIPFA's Disciplinary Scheme (WORD file - 140KB). You may also print and fill in a complaints form.
The procedural code for dealing with complaints is set out in The Disciplinary Regulations (WORD file - 190KB).
Complainants should set out their complaint in writing and send it, together with any supporting evidence, to:

CIPFA's disciplinary hearings are generally conducted in public. As a complainant, you will be invited to attend if your complaint is referred to the Disciplinary Committee.
