CIPFA and ICAEW held their third round of IFRS events in 2010 with looking at ‘IFRS and Beyond’. Conferences in London on 5 March 2010 and Leeds on 10 March 2010 focussed on lessons learned from the experience of central government, while looking forward to implementation in local government in 2010-11.
The Forum was chaired by Ken Beeton, Director, Financial Management and Reporting, HM Treasury. After presentations on key issues and lessons learned, there were practical workshops on Local Government IFRS challenges
- Financial management and managing the business
- Future reporting challenges (arising from IASB and IPSASB) and
- Embedding IFRS from 2010
