The Institute of Public Finance (IPF) - the arm of CIPFA that provides a range of services to public sector clients - is to merge its branding into CIPFA's to simplify our structure for customers. So from 15 June, IPF and its services will be promoted as part of CIPFA. For legal purposes, the IPF trading name will change to CIPFA Business, which will appear on invoices and other legal or financial documents. Clients need not do anything and will continue to enjoy the same first rate services, but if you have any queries, please email corporate@cipfa.org.uk. Through our range of services we support public sector managers to better understand the issues that matter, effectively manage their resources, make sound evidence-based decisions and continuously improve performance.
Visit www.cipfa.org.uk/business for details of how our services can support your work. |

Leading economist to open CIPFA conference Leading economic commentator Willem Buiter is to open CIPFA's 2009 annual conference. He is Professor of European Political Economy at the London School of Economics, a former member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and was chief economist for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Professor Buiter will be setting the scene for CIPFA's 2009 conference by outlining the global economic position and its impact on public finance. He replaces Joseph Stiglitz due to an unavoidable change to his commitments as chair of the United Nations commission on the global financial crisis.
