Stiglitz addresses CIPFA and HM Treasury symposium

 Professor Joseph Stiglitz, chair of the UN Commission on the global financial crisis, this week headlined a symposium hosted by CIPFA and HM Treasury.
 
Opening the World Class Performance Symposium 2010, the Nobel-prize winning economist argued that public sector investment is needed for economic recovery.
 
Other speakers included Sir Ian Blair, former Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and Jon Thompson, Head of the Government Finance Profession and Director General for Finance at the Ministry of Defence.
