CIPFA responds to emergency Budget
Responding to this week's emergency Budget, CIPFA's Chief Executive Steve Freer said: 'It's a great relief to now have a clear set of proposals to rebalance public finances'. Identifying the proposals as 'right at the top end of the scenarios set out by CIPFA and SOLACE', he said 'the Government is being very ambitious in attempting to tackle this challenge in a single Parliament. The question now is whether the plan can be delivered sustainably without decimating services. The focus shifts to those responsible for delivering services in public bodies who have some very painful decisions to make'. | |
