CIPFA issues interim treasury management advice
Local authority treasury management has come under intense scrutiny since the Icelandic banks’ collapse in October last year.
To support councils in their treasury management practices in light of these events, CIPFA this week issued interim advice. It addresses such issues as effective oversight of treasury management strategy by councillors, the role of treasury management advisors and the use and reliance placed upon credit ratings.

Calman Commission on Scottish Devolution CIPFA has made a second submission to the Calman Commission on Scottish Devolution.The CIPFA submission, which follows the Commission’s interim report, sets out the Institute’s views on accountability, borrowing powers, use of the Scottish Variable Rate, major infrastructure projects and post legislative reviews. |
