Minister commends CIPFA guide

Earlier this month, Northern Ireland Assembly Minister for Finance and Personnel, Sammy Wilson MP MLA launched the fourth edition of CIPFA's ‘On Board’ Guide for Board Members of Public Bodies.

The Minister said “For many years the On Board Guide has proved to be a very useful starting point and source of information for those who serve on our public bodies. I strongly commend this guide to Departments and public bodies”.

CIPFA and SOLACE: how are you tackling spending cuts?
In our report last year – After the Downturn - we outlined scenarios for different levels of spending cuts. As CIPFA and SOLACE develop the joint work begun with this report, we are now seeking live examples of how these options - or ideas like them - are being put to use in your organisation or area. Please email drew.cullen@cipfa.org.uk.

Value for money: how do you measure up?
The Operational Efficiency Programme report published last year recommends all public sector organisations should collect and report against the Value for Money (VfM) indicators. CIPFA has now launched the fourth year of their VfM indicator benchmarking service in response to this recommendation. If you would like to learn more about this service and to subscribe, visit www.vfmindicators.co.uk.
