MAJOR EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR 2006

CIPFA organises an extensive programme of exhibitions throughout the year from our major national event to topical one-day courses. Sponsorship opportunities are available at all events. A selection of these is listed below, however a more comprehensive list is available on our website.

An Introduction to Police Finance – 2 March 2006 – London
Further information will shortly be available in the CIPFA Shop

The CIPFA Local Authority Accounting Conference – 16 & 17 March 2006 – Grand Hotel, Brighton
In 2006, the programme will take the opportunity to reflect on what the future of local government finance holds for local authority teams. One year into the record third Labour term of office, how will local government funding develop? What will be the impact of the changing inspection policies? And how will efficiencies and organisational change affect each authority? An audience of about 180 chief accountants and other senior finance professionals is expected. The Conference Dinner takes place on the evening of Thursday 16 March at the Grand Hotel, Brighton.

The CIPFA Audit Conference – 26-28 April 2006 – Stratford-upon-Avon Moathouse Hotel
This conference, certainly the leading event for public sector audit, is always a must-attend date in the audit community. In 2006, the CIPFA Audit Panel intends that the conference will be bigger and better than ever before, featuring a very high-profile range of speakers and addressing the most topical issues of the day. The theme of the 2006 conference is ‘One Vision, Many Perspectives’. It will seek to reflect the very diverse landscape of public sector audit as a whole, whilst at the same time, draw together the many things that unite auditors, learn lessons from other areas, and together, deliver a public sector audit service that is the envy of the world. This popular event regularly attracts around 150 heads of audit from the public sector and other senior finance professionals.

The CIPFA Capital Conference – June 2006 – London

Conference for the Regions 2006 - Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September 2006, Glasgow
