CIPFA in Scotland Centenary Conference - 9 & 10 March – Glasgow --------------------------------------------------------------- Unlocking Scotland's Potential is the theme of CIPFA in Scotland's Centenary Conference and exhibition. The conference will consider how to unlock the potential for even more efficient, economic and effective public services. Local Authority Accounting Conference 2006 – 16 & 17 March – Brighton -------------------------------------------------------------------- This year’s conference takes excellent financial management as its key theme, one very close to the hearts of Government and regulators, representatives of which will be speaking. The conference will also cover the major finance and accounting issues currently facing local government and those on the Government's horizon. An Introduction to Social Care Finance – 24 March – London ---------------------------------------------------------- This seminar will highlight the major issues facing social care finance staff and look at the processes in place to deal with them from an entry level perspective. This event is ideal if you are a recently or part-qualified accountant, or need to know more about social care finance having absorbed social care into your children’s services duties. Local Government Finance for Councillors Seminar – 30 March – London -------------------------------------------------------------------- This seminar is designed especially for elected members, and will be of particular benefit to newly elected councillors and those wishing to update their knowledge of current issues likely to affect the new local government finance system. The sessions are intended to de-mystify local government finance. The CIPFA Audit Conference 2006 – 26-28 April – Stratford-upon-Avon ------------------------------------------------------------------- Audit is delivered in different ways in the many different types of organisations that make up the public sector, and it is important that we all share a common understanding of the fundamentals of auditing in this ever-changing world.
