Public sector reforms
Progress, priorities and pitfalls

CIPFA Northern Ireland Annual Conference
27 September 2012

The programme of Reform for public services has been clearly set out and the priority now is all about implementation and delivery.  This will be challenging especially given the current public spending environment.

So, how is it going so far?

The CIPFA conference will provide an analysis of progress to-date, outline current issues and identify priorities and what needs to be done for the Programme for Government to succeed.

Based on the successful format of the 2011 conference, we have retained the one day event in the heart of Belfast.  The programme is packed with high quality speakers who will provoke debate, elicit exciting new thinking and address the issues on your agenda.

Confirmed speakers include:

Senior Government representative

Paul Mason - Changing Economic and Political Landscape
Economics Editor, BBC Newsnight

Sir Tony Redmond - Practicalities of public sector reform
Former Local Government Ombudsman

John Bird - Enterprising public services
Founder of the Big Issue

Tom Scott - Impact of social networking on public services
Entrepreneur and social media expert

Sean Hogan and Ronan Larkin - Good governance and accountability
Chairman and Director of Finance, Northern Ireland Water
