Accredited Training Programmes

CIPFA Northern Ireland provides skills-based training programmes that are designed to provide participants with an enhanced level of professional work-based training in the fields of finance and accountancy, audit, investigation, governance and grant funding. Leading bodies such as The Institute of Administrative Management, the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Institute of Directors and EDEXCEL accredit the programmes.

Public Sector Senior Executive Development Programme
The Public Sector Senior Executive Development programme equips executives with leadership and associated skills; offers an accredited award that can lead to Chartered Director status; facilitates contact with a wide network of like-minded executives and provides access to longer-term professional executive development. The next programme will commence in December 2008.

CIPQ

CIPFA Investigative Practice Qualification
The CIPFA Investigative Practice Qualification will provide all investigators with the essential legal knowledge and skills to carry out an investigation professional and secure admissible evidence. This programme is highly flexible in that modules can be taken individually on a one-off basis, during one programme of delivery or over a three-year period leading to the qualification. Grant Skills

Diploma in Management Practice (Grants Skills)

The Grants Skills Training Programme has been developed by grant-funders for grant-funders. It is aimed at both operational and management staff within grant-funding organisations or units. The programme not only develops participant's knowledge and skills but has been proved to lead to real improvements in grant-funding systems and procedures. The Diploma in Management Practice (Grant Skills) - a Level 4 qualification - is awarded on successful completion of the assessment requirements. The next Grant Skills programme is due to commence in September 2008.

Prince

PRINCE2 Accredited Training Programme
CIPFA Northern Ireland, in association with Benchmark, is delighted to offer PRINCE2 Accredited Training courses for Foundation and Practitioner Levels. This programme offers delegates an academic qualification from the Association for Project Management Group Limited (APMG). Courses scheduled for 2008 include:

  • 31 March - 4 April 2008
  • 12 May - 16 May 2008
  • 15 September - 19 September 2008
  • 10 November 2008 - 14 November 2008

MOR

Management of Risk

CIPFA Northern Ireland, in association with Insights, is delighted to announce the introduction of Management of Risk (M_o_R®) accredited training courses for Foundation and Practitioner Levels. These new courses are designed to address the need for accredited training in risk management within the Northern Ireland public services. North/South Programme

North/South Cross Border Training for Public Officials
There are now over 700 civil and public servants working on North/South and cross-border co-operation issues in North/South bodies, government departments and other public agencies in the Irish jurisdictions. Currently there are few opportunities for such people to undertake induction or training courses to equip them for work in this new, complex and sensitive area, or for public officials coming to work in the area for the first time.

The next programme will run between May 2008 to September 2008.
