The Forum is an influential group of Chairpersons of public bodies in Northern Ireland with over 60 members and is the only association of its type in the United Kingdom. Over the last two years, the Forum has established strong links with Chairs of public, state owned and semi-state owned bodies in Ireland.
The purpose of the Forum is to support and enable chairs of public bodies appointed through the public appointment process to maximise their effectiveness as chairs. To further our mission, the Chairs’ Forum seeks to:

The Forum is governed by a General committee, elected by members at the Annual General Meeting. The current Committee is:

Membership
We welcome new members to the Forum. Membership is open to those who are Chairpersons of public bodies in Northern Ireland who have come through a public appointments process and include bodies where the Chairperson is elected by its membership.

Partnership with CIPFA


Through an innovative partnership, CIPFA Northern Ireland provides professional support for the Chairperson’s Forum. CIPFA Northern Ireland advises the Forum on the key governance and related issues affecting public bodies and organises our annual programme of events that helps further the aims of the Forum.
The Forum is based at CIPFA’s offices in the Lesley Exchange 2 Building in East Bridge Street, Belfast.
