PrintAAT NVQ Payroll Administration
The AAT NVQ Payroll Administration qualification is designed to reflect the work of staff in payroll services. It is for anyone already working or looking to work in the payroll functions, whether they are in large or small organisations. The qualification will develop the skills and knowledge required for payroll preparation and administration. This qualification will enable participants to work in any area of payroll.
WHO IS THE QUALIFICATION FOR?
The AAT NVQ in Payroll Administration is aimed at payroll administrators and managers who wish to develop their knowledge in this area.
WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
No previous qualifications or experience is required to enrol for this qualification. You can be any age however, because the qualification will rely on collecting evidence that you can do the work, it is usually easier to do this if you are already working in payroll.
WHAT DOES THE COURSE INVOLVE?
There are two levels to the NVQ in Payroll Administration - Level 2 and Level 3. Each level represents a qualification in its own right and you will receive a certificate for each level you achieve. The topics covered at each level are:

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
As you progress through each unit you will collect evidence from your day-to-day work which demonstrates your ability to do the required tasks. This evidence is assessed by your tutor through a skills test in order to see not just that you can do the work, but that you have achieved a certain standard of work. Formal exams are also set for units where there is a benefit in showing further knowledge and understanding of the principles contained in that unit and that underpin the practical knowledge shown in your skills test.

FURTHER DETAILS AND BOOKING
CIPFA Northern Ireland operate both Levels of this qualification.
COST
Both levels require students to demonstrate competency in each unit, sit a three hour examination and submit a portfolio of evidence. The cost for Level 2 is £595 plus VAT and Level 3 is £695 plus VAT. There will be an additional fee for text books, a student registration fee and examination fees payable to AAT.
