The FRC and its operating bodies
Financial Reporting Council (FRC - www.frc.org.uk)
The FRC is the UK's independent regulator for corporate reporting and governance. Its functions are substantially exercised through its operating bodies:
ASB - Accounting Standards Board (www.frc.org.uk/asb)
APB - Auditing Practices Board (www.frc.org.uk/apb)
BAS - Board for Actuarial Standards (www.frc.org.uk/bas)
POB - Professional Oversight Board (www.frc.org.uk/pob)
FRRP - Financial Reporting Review Panel (www.frc.org.uk/frrp)
AADB - Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board (www.frc.org.uk/aadb)
CIPFA’s Accounting and Auditing Standards Panel has an interest in many FRC projects, but mainly considers the work of the ASB and the APB. The Panel is particularly interested in public benefit sector work developed by the ASB’s specialist Committee on Accounting for Public Benefit Entities (CAPE www.frc.org.uk/asb/about/committee4.cfm).
