Governing Body Member - Filton College
Filton College in Bristol has a governing body, "The Corporation", which includes members drawn from a variety of business, academic, local authority and local community organisations who all wish to make a positive contribution to the education of learners. Governors are volunteers who have an important part to play in raising standards and the College is looking for a new member who ideally has financial/accountancy experience. Corporation meetings are held 10 times per year and members are expected to also service on at least one sub-committee which also meets about 4 times per year.
If you would like more information, please contact Sharon Glover, Clerk to the Corporation, sharon.glover@filton.ac.uk

Partnerships and Other Alliances: Case Studies from the Further and Higher Education Sectors
CIPFA's Further and Higher Education Panel believes that the sectors' institutions could benefit from sharing the experiences of successful partnerships that also highlight issues to be aware of, including potential pitfalls and risks. Accordingly, the Panel has developed this publication. It delivers in-depth descriptions of four very different partnerships and alliances in place in four very different institutions. It also contains an introductory section which develops key themes and provides guidance and advice for institutions that are considering entering into partnerships or alliances.
