Commissioning for Personalisation
PMPA will be working with the Centre for Public Service Partnerships on a programme of research and events in autumn 2009, on the theme ‘Commissioning for Personalisation’. This will deal with the increasing trend towards personalized budgets, direct payments, the potential for additional ‘voucher’ schemes etc and the challenge that brings for commissioners.
Skills for tomorrow’s public services
PMPA will be running a series of events in partnership with the National School of Government. The focus of these events is to look at how Universities can help with developing the civil servants we need in the future with policy, delivery and collaboration skills. The changing context of traditional civil service and policy-making skills highlight the new public management skills that are emerging; such as partnership working, collaboration, an understanding of adaptive systems and a focus on outcomes.
The first event is on the 30 June with guest speaker Professor Paul Joyce of the Liverpool Business School, in London.
