Founded in 1885 CIPFA is one of six chartered accountancy bodies headquartered in the United Kingdom. An active founder member of both, the Federation of European Accountants (FEE) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) representing the global profession, CIPFA’s uniquely exclusive focus is upon the financial management needs of governments and public
sector organisations.
CIPFA members bring their distinctive specialist knowledge and skills to bear, often in very senior leadership roles, in public bodies and in private sector firms which support and advise public sector clients.
CIPFA is also well known for its high quality publications and services, many of which focus on its core interests: public financial management and governance. Its regular publications include Public Finance and Public Money and Management.
CIPFA is increasingly active internationally, partnering with governments, professional bodies and training organisations to improve and grow capacity in public financial management in a range of developed, emerging and developing economies across the world.
