The Sir Harry Page Technical Innovation Merit Award 2008
PURPOSE OF THE AWARD
The Sir Harry Page Technical Innovation Merit Award is made annually for an outstanding piece of work or initiative focused on a particular technical matter within the field of public service accounting and financial management. Its purpose is to promote the technique, science and art of public finance and its presentation.
The delivery of good public services relies on the contributions of professionals from a wide range of disciplines. This award also seeks to highlight the distinctive contribution of public service finance professionals in advancing the quality and effectiveness of public services.
Sir Harry Page was a former President of CIPFA and City Treasurer of Manchester. The award has been presented annually since 1969.
THE PRIZE
The Sir Harry Page Technical Innovation Merit Award trophy was presented to HM Treasury at the President's Dinner at the commencement of the CIPFA 2008 Conference.
