Sustainability Conference 2007
The inaugural CIPFA Sustainability Conference took place on 6th February 2007 with a range of speakers from local government, including the keynote speaker, Jonathon Porritt, the founding director of Forum for the Future. Topics included; sustainable procurement, whole-life costing and several real-life examples of sustainability in action. Please see the attached agenda below for the full list.

Sustainability of Public Services - Policy and Practice
In this session, Richard Rogers, Chief Executive of the Environmental Heritage Service (EHS), appraised the government's sustainable development strategy, outlined the role of the EHS in the delivery of that strategy and highlighted what needs to be done in practice to ensure the local environment is protected for the future. In addition, a practical case study in the cost and benefits of generating power for the Health Service through natural resources was outlined by Clarke Bailie, Northern H&SS Trust.
