Welcome to all CIPFA members living in Europe.
This is your website and an opportunity to let other group members know about news and events in the region. See the Contacts page for where to send details of news or events that members may be interested in. The Accounting Issues page provides updates on recent developments in european accounting. The Living in Europe page addresses some of the issues faced by members working in Europe. Contributions from members would be welcomed, either information relevant to working in Europe, or a description of a typical working day, or a profile, with picture if possible, as this will demonstrate the wide variety of working environments our members find themselves in.

CIPFA European Group General Meeting 8 October 2009
The CIPFA European Group's General Meeting and annual seminar took place on 8 October 2009 at the Federation of European Accountants in Brussels. The programme covered current professional issues such as engaging communities in future economic and fiscal sustainability. The afternoon session for European Group members included a discussion on a strategy for Europe and the future role of the Group and its members. Powerpoint presentations from the day are available to download from the events page. A full review of the event, first published in the December edition of Spreadsheet, is also now available.
Annual Report 2008 & Development Plan 2010
The CIPFA European Group's Annual Report for 2008 and Development Plan for 2010 are now available to download.
Spreadsheet focus
Two key volunteers from the European Group were the subject of an article in the April 2009 edition of Spreadsheet magazine. Hilary Street described her work as the website volunteer for the Region, whilst Victoria Bainbridge discussed her role as Secretary.
CIPFA's International Strategy Panel
Leslie Milne, Chair of the CIPFA European Group, is a member of CIPFA's International Strategy Panel. The Panel considers CIPFA's international activities and how they relate to the relevant aspects of the Institute's Development Strategy.
