CIPFA in the Midlands AGM 2006 - Report and Pictures

The CIPFA in the Midlands AGM was held on 3rd April 2006, hosted by Nottinghamshire County Council. It was attended by around 30 Members and 13 newly qualifieds to whom certificates were to be presented.

Jeff Nash welcomed us to Nottinghamshire CC, and gave his amusing modern version of Robin Hood and Local Government. The formal business of the Regional AGM then got underway, including speeches by the Regional President Mark Lawrie and Regional Officers. The meeting was then addressed by the Mike Barnes, the National  Immediate Past President (click here to download the address).

The final stage of the afternoon saw Mike presenting newly qualified members from across the Region with their certificates.

Here's a selection of photographs from the afternoon, with commentary.

 AGM Presentation

The Regional and National Presidents presented certificates to new members of the Institute and newly-qualifieds from the Midlands.

The Region is keen to promote the recognition and welcoming of new members and newly-qualifieds as a key part of the AGM afternoon.

The Regional AGM is an important part of the Regional Calendar, and the Regional Council hopes to see an ever increasing attendance year-by-year!
