Speed Reading Course - “I really want to see those fingers”
Speed Reading Course
“I really want to see those fingers”
Students snapped up the places at an unbelievable rate for the Speed Reading course organised by CIPFA in the Midlands Student Society, delivered by Phil Chambers of Learning Technologies.
The event was held on the afternoon of Friday 21st April 2006 at Deloitte Offices in Birmingham. Following an excellent lunch and speeches by incoming President Nick Harvey and outgoing President Jonathan Causton, the main event got underway.
Students were taught several things, most of which challenged traditional and widely held views and approaches to reading. The highlights were:
Phil went on to introduce Mind-Mapping - at which he is the reigning World Champion - and then finished by taking questions and introducing some of the diverse range of courses and publications that Learning Technologies have to offer.
The Course proved to be highly effective and many delegates found that their reading speed had doubled throughout the afternoon: this was reflected by overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Our thanks go to Deloitte Offices for providing the venue free of charge and the catering and to Phil Chambers and Learning Technologies for the excellent course.
The Student Society is in the early stages of planning a third event late in the summer, so watch this space – if there are any topics you would like to see covered please get in touch (contact details on the website)
