Welcome to the CIPFA in the Midlands Students' Society Site!
The CMSS Relaunch Event was held on 2nd November 2009, attracting 27 people, of which 22 were new. There was a good cross section of students, ranging from new starters through to completion of FTCS, and the event received positive feedback. Read more......
There are currently talks with AAT Birmingham about co-hosting events and trying to establish links with ICEAW. The Committee would welcome offers of cheap/free venues to hold events, partners to host events and sponsorship. The first joint event will be a quiz - see the Events page for details.
A decision has been made that, after much positive feedback from students on the format of the 2009 joint conference held in Manchester, this format will continue and the 2010 Student Conference will be held in Harrogate. The 2011 Student Conference will be held in Birmingham.

Get Involved with CIPFA Locally
There are lots of opportunities for students to become actively involved in the Region's work and activities. It's a great way to learn more, widen your experience, and develop your network of contacts. Read more....
National Student Forum
The National Student Forum (NSF) was formed to create a link between students and CIPFA at the strategic level. Each region is represented by one or two students or newly qualified accountants. The NSF representatives feed students' views to CIPFA and give input to decisions about Education and Training. For more details, and to see who your local representatives are, click here.
