Education and Training in the Midlands Region

This page gives details of the two providers of CIPFA training based in the Midlands Region - the CIPFA Education and Training Centre in Birmingham and the Nottingham Trent University Business School.

The CIPFA Education and Training Centre (CETC)

The CIPFA Education and Training Centre (CETC) was established in 1986 by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) to provide high quality financial management training for the public services. CETC is the UK's largest CIPFA course provider concentrating exclusively on providing training and support for the full range of CIPFA qualifications including:

  • CIPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification (PAQ)
  • CIPFA Diploma in Public Audit (DPA)
  • Warwick Postgraduate Diploma in Public Finance and Leadership (PDPFL) leading to CIPFA membership
  • CIPFA International Certificate and Diploma in Public Sector Accounting and Audit

    CETC offers courses taught by professionally qualified tutors who possess public sector experience. CETC currently employ 24 professionally qualified teaching staff.

    CETC has five centres in the UK: CETC South East (London), CETC Midlands (Birmingham), CETC West of England (Bristol), East Scotland (Edinburgh) and CETC Wales (Cardiff).

    Nottingham Business School is one of the UK's leading full service business schools, providing a wide range of business and management education options for individuals and organisations, including CIPFA.

    All CIPFA stages are delivered via open learning and students have the option to attend as many modules as desired.  Also available is the AAT fast track scheme.  The Fast track module has been designed to fit within the current modular format of CIPFA Professional Qualification.
