Audit Group
CIPFA in the North East's Audit Group exists to support members of CIPFA and other auditing and accounting bodies to deliver high quality auditing within the region. The group works to enhance the quality of the audit process by maintaining and developing auditing skills through the delivery of an annual programme of events, covering a broad range of areas related to both internal and external audit, risk management and corporate governance.
The group's activity is guided by the needs and requirements of auditors within the region, and is organised by a Steering Group whose members are:
- Ann Banks, South Tyneside Council
- Paul Bradley, Gateshead Council
- Phil Chamberlin, Homes and Communities Agency
- Val Peacock, City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust
- Juliet Simpson, Newcastle University
