Jane Cuthbertson - Chair of CIPFA North East
Jane Cuthbertson is currently chair of the region and has been actively involved with the region since 2001, holding the positions of secretary and vice chair.
Her career to date has spanned both public and private sector organisations; commencing with North Tyneside Audit she then moved to KPMG where she delivered audit services to a wide range of public sector clients, she then returned briefly to the public sector with South Tyneside Audit and then moved to BT South Tyneside where she is currently working as a Principal Accountant.
It was one of the region's proudest moments whilst, when studying, Jane was elected as the inaugural Chair of the National Students Forum that was set up by CIPFA in 2002. The Forum developed under her enthusiasm and skill to become a body right at the heart of the CIPFA family, demonstrated by the initiative to include a student representative on CIPFA Council. Jane was Chair of the NSF until 2004 and during that time found herself chairing meetings both for the forum and at CIPFA National Conference. Jane has been successful in gaining a seat at CIPFA Council on 5 further occasions and is a duly elected member on CIPFA Council for 2011/12. Jane is also the Vice Chair of CIPFA's Audit Committee and is a member of the Board for the Regions.
Her infectious enthusiasm for all things CIPFA makes her best placed to represent the region at the highest level and if you want to know what goes on behind the doors of Robert Street ...just ask Jane.
