Continuing Professional Development

The purpose of CPD is to ensure Members keep up to date with new developments/guidance; thus maintaining their expertise, and providing the highest levels of service.

CPD encourages members to develop their Technical and Management skills:

The current guidelines can be found here.

Mandatory CPD
At the AGM in January 2005, the CPD scheme became mandatory for members. Implementation was phased in over a three year period, based upon individual Member Election dates.

There are a number of exemptions covering Retired members, Members on career breaks & Extenuating Circumstances.

Levels of Participation
Two levels of participation are available to Members; Level 1 is the basic scheme designed to meet all current requirements of regulators, Level 2 is the best practice scheme and focuses on planning, recording and reflecting on your CPD activity.
