Mike Owen is new Society President:
Mike Owen, Director of Finance at Bury MBC was installed as the new President of the Society at the Annual General Meeting held in Bury on the 27th March 2009. Mike has been a long serving member of the region and is cuurently Chair of the Board for the Regions. He has previously held the post of Regional Representative on the CIPFA Council. At the AGM, Mike said that he was looking forward to a challenging year especially with the CIPFA Conference being held in the North West.

Volunteer for a Careers Fair!
CIPFA is keen to promote the uptake of the Professional Qualification at university careers fairs in 2009. Three Fairs will be held in our Region :-
- Liverpool University - 2nd June 2009
- Manchester University - 17th June 2009

Society wins Most Improved Regional Website Award
The North West and North Wales Society were announced as the winners of the Most Improved Regional Website of the Year Award 2008 at the Conference for the Regions. Shaer Halewood and David Rose were presented the award by CIPFA President Caroline Mawhood.
