The Audit Advisory Group aims to promote CIPFA as the premier Public Sector Auditing body. It seeks to enhance the quality of the audit process by maintaining and developing auditing skills in members and students of CIPFA and other accountancy and auditing bodies. Audit Group AGM 2008
The Audit Group's 2008 Annual General Meeting was held at the Suites Hotel, Knowsley on Friday, 15th February 2008. Tom Powell of PWC was elected Chairman of the Audit Group for the year.
Audit Group Weekend School 2008
The 2008 Weekend School was held at Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club in Cheshire over the weekend from Friday, 7th to Sunday 9th March.

Contracts Audit Manual In CIPFA's 2007 Cliff Nicholson Award for Innovation and Excellence in Audit, the Greater Manchester Contract Audit Group has gained a "highly commended" award for their Contracts Audit Manual. Commenting on their submission, Chairman of the Group, Martyn Kenyon said: "Production of the maunal aligns perfectly with the increased profile of issues such as partnering, procurement and outsourcing, along with all their associated risks, so will help to support any newcomers to the Contracts Audit arena, and avoid existing Contracts Auditors going into "meltdown" due to the potential workload. Group members are now working with the Cipfa Audit Panel on developing some training to assist in the rollout of the manual and increase the confidence of non-contracts specialists. The wider this manual is used, the quicker it will repay the time investment that has gone into its creation. We hope it's useful."
