North West Student Forum

Student Forum

The Student Forum has been reinvented with an Executive of new volunteers. The Forum has been undergoing some changes recently while we consider the best way to support out students through exams, to develop contacts and build professional networks and through the future once you become a CIPFA Member.

Forthcoming Events

Presentation Skills Workshop - 14 February 2012

For those of you nearing the end of your studies - or perhaps looking to get some of your IPDS done early - we're putting on a presentation skills session to help you out with a key part of the IPDS. We understand that not everyone has the opportunity to give a presentation in work, so we're making sure our students don't miss out by offering this full day course with the opportunity to give a presentation on a subject of your choice and receive constructive feedback suitable for inclusion in your IPDS. Lunch is included - just get in touch with us to express your interest and we will confirm a date as soon as possible.

For more information about upcoming events or to discuss any student issues, please contact Carol McDonnell at CarolMcDonnell@sthelens.gov.uk.

The focus of the Forum has changed to reflect the new arrangements and we have four new volunteers on the Forum who are:

Students: let us know your views!
CIPFA is currently running a student survey covering both regional support services and the new arrangements for tuition. We would like to know your views as this helps CIPFA improve its services for students. If you receive an email invitation to take part, please follow the link and complete the survey.

Volunteers always accepted!
If you would like to volunteer for the Student Forum, we'd be more than happy to have you. Volunteering is a great way to build new contacts and supplement your personal and career development. It can be challenging sometimes but it is very rewarding.  Volunteers in the past have credited furthering their career on an accelerated basis by their volunteering activities so its beneficial in the long run too!
