The Republic of Ireland branch was formed in 1993. Its aims are :-
- to provide on-going professional assistance to members
- to promote the objectives of CIPFA in Ireland
- to support CIPFA students and liaise with the Institute of Public Administration, the accredited CIPFA college in the Republic of Ireland
CIPFA members are employed in organisations throughout the Republic of Ireland. These include Local Authorities, Government Departments, Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General, Health Boards, Vocational Educational Committees, State Corporations and Semi-State Bodies.
Within these organisations, CIPFA members contribute in a variety of roles including the positions of Finance Officer, Auditor, Principal Officer, Accountant, County Secretary, Chief Executive and Senior Finance Specialist.
