Aims and Objectives of the Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of CIPFA in Scotland is the body responsible for determining policy and for co-ordination and administration of all volunteer activities in Scotland.

How does the Committee Operate?

The Executive Committee meets four times per year. In addition all members are allocated to a Task Team. Committee members are also expected to support other CIPFA activities, particularly attendance at the annual Scottish Conference and other events during the year.

As well as the Executive Committee the Branch uses Task Teams to deliver several key items of the development strategy. At present there are two Task Teams, namely Member Services and Education & Training.

The main function of the Member Services Task Team is to develop services to Scottish members. Current activities include the establishment and development of a mentoring scheme, annual quiz, members meetings, and supporting CPD in conjunction with the Education & Training Task Team.

The main function of the Education & Training Task Team is to provide a link between students (including prospective students), employers and the Institute. Current activities include supporting the development of CPD, review of student prizes, and developing a Professional Advisers Scheme to represent CIPFA at Careers Fairs etc and generally promoting CIPFA to students.
