Region hosts stand at CIPFA Annual Conference
CIPFA in Yorkshire and the Humber hosted a very lively stand at the CIPFA Annual Conference which acted as a hub for our current volunteers and gave us the opportunity to attract some new volunteers too. Thanks also go to our friends in the other CIPFA Regions for their support - pictures, pamphlets and being on the stand - and to Betty's for providing the food!
Event held on Cost and Revenue Control - a Private Sector Approach
This recent CIPFA in Yorkshire and the Humber event aimed to provide practitioners with different approaches to financial control during difficult economic times. Once again we had a good turn out of around 40 delegates and the areas covered certainly provided food for thought!

Event held on IFRS
Over 45 delegates attended a recent CIPFA in Yorkshire and the Humber event on International Financial Reporting Standards in Local Government. The event was was hosted by Rotherham Metropolitan Council on 28th April 2010.
The programme built upon a similar event held in 2008 and provided delegates with an overview of the key aspects of IFRS they should be addressing at this point in time. The subject was clearly highly topical as there was a lively question and answer session at the end of the presentation, with only the pressure of time bringing the event to a close.
