Project management training | project management courses | PRINCE2? courses

Essentials of Project Management

This course combines an overview of fundamental concepts and terminology with the practicalities needed to implement projects successfully using the PRINCE2 methodology. Using case studies and practical exercises, delegates will explore project management topics in greater depth, such as planning, scheduling and control tools.

Managing Small Projects

This workshop introduces the fundamental principles and techniques needed to manage a small project. It enables participants to understand a practical approach to defining and initiating a project, to plan how it should be monitored and controlled and to identify factors which can contribute to the success of a project. The workshop is based on the principles and terminology of PRINCE2.

An Overview of Programme Management

Programmes are different from projects in that it is their outcomes that matter, not their outputs. Programmes are initiated to realise benefits through change, whether to do things differently, to do different things, or to do things that will influence others to change.

Managing Quality, Risk and Communications in Projects

This workshop considers these three key components of project management. It reviews quality from two complementary perspectives: the "process" and the "products" associated with the project deliverables. It also addresses the identification, analysis and response to project risk and considers communication requirements.

Microsoft Project Management Tools

This hands-on course focuses on the critical planning stage of a project and how to set a project up for success. Hands-on exercises with Microsoft Project will demonstrate effective and easy-to-implement techniques to better plan, schedule and allocate resources.

Project Support and Administration

This course is specifically designed for delegates who work in a project support (rather than project management) role, who are administrators of large or medium scale projects, project team or work stream leaders.  The course will involve a mixture of theoretical lectures, practical exercises and discussion workshops so that delegates can apply the lessons and techniques learned. Throughout the course, you are encouraged to share your working experiences and concerns.

Effective Report Writing

The course sets out a systematic approach to preparing, structuring and writing reports. During the workshop you will consider the purpose of reports; the needs of your audience; a standard report structure; writing and presenting your material.

Presenting Figures Effectively

This is a friendly, informal course appropriate for a wide variety of staff who are required to present figures, tables and graphs in their role.

PRINCE2® for the public sector Foundation and Practitioner Level

The PRINCE2® accredited programme is conducted over a five-day training schedule incorporating both the Foundation and Practitioner Levels.

Foundation Level is delivered over the first three days, with the Foundation examination on the afternoon of the third day. Example examination questions are also included in the materials to enable participants to become familiar with the structure of the examination.

Following success in the Foundation Level examination, delegates can then proceed to Practitioner Level on days four and five. The Practitioner examination is undertaken on the fifth day.

Managing Projects/Sponsoring and Directing Projects

The project sponsor plays a pivotal role, providing the link between corporate strategy and project governance. In delegating responsibility to a project manager, the sponsor represents management, provides leadership and governance oversight, establishes and monitors the boundaries within which the project manager operates, and fronts any issues escalated by the project team.  To be an effective project sponsor you will need to be an effective, business leader, change agent and decision maker.

Introduction to Project Management

This one day course introduces participants to the key concepts, and fundamental tools and techniques for Project Management that will enhance the efficient and effective delivery of discrete pieces of work and also enhance team performance.

It will be interactive and the day will see a balance between presentation and workshops based around a real example.
