IPDS Guide - Evidenced Activities
Your role in the activity
When writing your planning statement, be clear about how you came to undertake an activity and why it fits within the area of activity you have chosen.
Where you have taken part in an activity as part of a team, your involvement may not always be sufficient to meet all the requirements of the activity.
Example Attend and appraise the success of a meeting between representatives of an organisation (or part thereof) and their customers. You may have attended the meeting, taken notes etc, but not been asked to appraise its success. You could write up an appraisal report separately and include this in the portfolio or include an appraisal of the meeting as part of your reflection. If you choose the latter, the reflection must address your feelings about your participation in the meeting and other aspects that make a good reflective commentary, not solely the behaviours of the other participants, as these would form part of the appraisal. |
As always, be clear throughout about what you actually did in the activity, why this was appropriate and how it relates to the work of the wider team.
