AIBS has a developing cohort of researchers who pursue advanced research into management and leadership issues in the public and private sectors and the boundary areas between them. We have recently been approved as an associate of the UK's National School of Government active in the provision of specialist education to senior staff of departments of state and public agencies on a tailored basis.

CIPFA is one of the major UK professional accountancy bodies in the UK. CIPFA provides key education and training for finance professionals within the public services and have members working, not only in the UK but also in the Republic of Ireland, Europe, the Americas and Far East.

In addition to its role in Education & Training CIPFA provide full technical support to members and see the research activities of ACIPFAL as a positive initiative that assists CIPFA in achieving both roles.

ACIPFAL is approaching its 30th Anniversary of representing CIPFA tuition centres and promoting public service finance education. ACIPFAL members took a central role in developing JFMPS and host an annual conference for public sector researchers.
