CIPFA relies heavily on volunteers for the delivery of many of its key activities. Our volunteers, therefore, have a vital role to play in the success of the Institute. Volunteering is a way you can make a difference to your professional body, the accountancy profession and society at large. As a CIPFA volunteer you can help us to make a real contribution to the profession and to organisations involved in the public sector.

The commitment and positive support of our volunteers is crucial to the success of CIPFA. Whether it is organising an evening seminar for members and students, encouraging fellow members to participate in the CPD Scheme or contributing to the development of new professional guidance, the experience and knowledge offered voluntarily by these individuals is invaluable.

Employers too benefit in a variety of ways from CIPFA volunteering. Staff are better networked and much more likely to bring fresh ideas and thinking into the organisation. Often they have the opportunity to be involved with real leading edge developments and will bring vital knowledge which may help the organisation get ahead of the game. Primarily staff will be actively expanding their skills, knowledge and ideas.

This website outlines how you can get involved with CIPFA volunteering and the types of voluntary activities you can undertake. Please browse the site to find out how you and your staff can help CIPFA and at the same time help yourselves.

Since I took on a volunteer role the personal rewards have been enormous. I have learnt a valuable new skill and been welcomed by regional council members.
