Welcome to CIPFA Wales·Cymru
The CIPFA Wales·Cymru Annual Conference 2008
“The State of Things to Come”
27th-28th November 2008, Holland House Hotel, Cardiff
With so many major developments and changes currently afoot, the CIPFA Wales Annual Conference 2008 is a valuable opportunity for considering and perhaps speculating on “The State of Things to Come” – a time to consider what’s past, where we are presently and most importantly how these are providing the impetus to consider how the future might look.
This is the premier event for CIPFA Wales·Cymru, embracing all aspects of public service delivery and with a distinguished range of speakers will address this year’s theme. To book online please visit the CIPFA Shop. An Exhibitor and Sponsor brochure is also available.

Essential Training for the Public Sector
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
The introduction of IFRS is an issue that all public bodies need to consider sooner rather than later. The earlier the new reporting requirements are addressed, the smoother the transition as systems and processes may need to be developed to ensure the necessary outputs and financial records. To prepare the way for major changes in the way accounts of public bodies are produced, CIPFA and PricewaterhouseCoopers have developed a suite of training courses that are being delivered throughout the United Kingdom.
Technical Support for Wales Office
CIPFA Wales·Cymru is actively reviewing the level and quality of technical advice and support it currently offers. Enquiries are invited from those interested in contributing on a contractual basis to support emerging policy and technical issues in the Welsh public sector. Contact maria.jones@cipfa.org.
