CIPFA Wales·Cymru is delighted to announce its nominations for the Officer posts on the CIPFA Wales·Cymru Forum for the forthcoming year. These nominations are subject to ratification at the Annual General Meeting and are as follows:

The CIPFA Development Strategy has placed significant emphasis upon the need to expand and sharpen the focus of the Institute's activities in relation to each centre of Government in the UK and Ireland. The first stage for Wales has seen the appointment of Maria Jones, as Manager, whose role encompasses the following:
- Creating a much higher profile for the Institute in relation to the work of the National Assembly for Wales and to be influential in policy review and processes development.
- Forging closer links with public bodies working within Wales and others with a vested interest in supporting such bodies.
- Engaging the interest of and encouraging the active participation by members and students working within the Welsh public sector.
As part of the continuing development of CIPFA services in Wales, following consultation with a small group of active volunteers in Wales and having engaged the interest of representatives of most of the Institute's significant employers/constituencies in Wales, the Institute endorsed the creation of a new CIPFA in Wales organisation (CIPFA in Wales Forum).
The Forum now has its own constitution and governing body (along the lines of a CIPFA branch); is CIPFA's voice in Wales; works closely with the existing regions to develop and oversee the delivery of a programme of events and activities with a distinctive Welsh flavour and also provide a focal point for volunteering opportunities in Wales alongside the regions.
